The safety requirements on derinding-, skinning- and membrane removal machines have been updated. 

EN 12355:2022 deals with the significant hazards, hazardous situations or related to derinding, skinning and membrane removal machines, when used as intended and under conditions of misuse reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer.

This document deals with the hazards which can arise during all the lifetime of the machinery.

This standard is not applicable to:

  • derinding, skinning, and membrane removal machines for domestic purposes
  • hand-guided machines
  • table-top machines
  • fish heading and filleting machines as described in EN 15467:2014
  • derinding, skinning and membrane removal machines manufactured before the date of its publication.
